i have built many engines and have used both carbs. From my personal experience the SU (hs6) is much better unless you have a very highly modified engine. The engine you are using is not well suited to the webber in its present form. unless you do a lot of performance modifications like high compression, high lift cam with long duration, ported head, bigger valves, exhaust header, etc., you are just wasting your time. I appreciate you reply and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do.

@Gazpacho8 i have never never that before. I have a Healey 3000 with SUs and now just rebuilt a TR-4 with HS6 SUs. Both run like a charm. HMmmmm.....you learn something new everyday. One of the easiest carbs to rebuild tune, IMO.

@kenzo5716 Su's work ok when they're new but after 40 years it's basically impossible to get the car to run correctly, that's been my experience with them anyway. You can send them away for an expensive rebuild but it's not worth it for a carb that was mediocre in the first place.

The weber sounds better than others, although the sound changes much according to its tuning.

I use this car to cruise and drive in the twisties. It's a full 5 sensory experience. The throttle response and the noise these carbs provide significantly over shadows for me any fuel usage. Thank you for your input :D

Of course. The weber carb is for rally. Many rally cars has weber 45, or weber 50.
Its for racing. Not for those who wants a car that dont take so much fuel.

If you can trim/adjust the weber carb. Its better then the SUs..

sounds like a gas-powered sewing machine :D
it will run better with twin HS6 SUs.
