This is the lap steel guitar that I built. It is constructed of red maple. I picked up the abalone inlayed fretboard, locking tuners, tele style pickup and electronics on ebay. It has a two 500k pots (volume and tone) and a 022uF orange drop capacitor. The nut and bridge are made of aluminum angle. The strings are anchored through the back and come through a stainless steel plate. This is tuned to C6th tuning. I will add a video with sound at a later time.

Visit my youtube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/LapSteelYourFace for building information including videos on wiring electronics, lessons and resources.

If you want to build one, you can find basic instructions here: http://buildyourguitar.com/resources/lapsteel/
