Yes, the Band does it so righteous. It was released on "Music from Big Pink" and you will clearly see that the credits say, "written by Bob Dylan." No matter...it has become an American song of redemption from the darkness of oppression, a statement of hope, freedom and longing so sweetly mixed that I hope everybody sings it on a stage sometime in life. I did...I also sang it handcuffed in the back of a police car while being framed for a crime I didn't committ. RESONANT. Just sing, feel.
