A David Fincher interview on the 2007 film, Zodiac.

Zodiac was shot mostly digitally using Viper Cam and then edited using Final Cut Pro by Angus Wall (A.C.E.)

Enjoy.

  • This clip is great! But to add to the description, it is a common misbelief that Zodiac was shot totally digitally. It is for the most part, but the Slow Motion Sequenches during the murder scenes are still shot on film.

  • @evaprefa You're right, I know they did the same on Superbad too. That was shot on Panavision Genesis, and the slow-mo shots were all film based... I have changed the description... :) Thanks for pointing that out :)

  • i wonder how he feels about final cut pro x

  • @THEANnetWork I think Angus won't like it. I think a lot of people are moving to AVID and Premiere Pro :|. I'm sticking with FCP7 lol

  • i really want to use it but i'm kind of new to the editing and directing world and am debating on if i should buy it now or buy it when i am more trained. is it easy to work with? i know i should try the trail first but i am not very good when it comes to limits so i won't feel very comfortable doing the trail

  • @crazycouplefan I personally started out with rubbish Movie Maker back in the day, and then when I went to college, I was taught Final Cut Pro, as that's what they had. I've used Avid and Final Cut Pro. If you want to get into the editing more, I would say get Final Cut Express - it's cheaper and it's better than iMovie for the Mac.

I can't really decide what to suggest for you, as I don't know the extent of what you need it for really...

Final Cut Express to start, I'd say...
