Etching the Classic-Romantic Style
Bernd Lehmann http://bernd-lehmann.de

With his numerous etchings the artist Bernd Lehmann makes what is beautiful re-accessible to the perceiver, because beauty (which according to Schiller should penetrate the beholder's innermost being) is immediate. In seeking itself the human soul should not only do so within the apparition of beauty, but must also do so for the sake of becoming aware of itself (perhaps all the more so in this present time). In the classical sense it follows that beauty is a monogram of our soul. When Novalis said our soul must be air because it is conscious of music, he inevitably evokes an atmospheric ambiance which in turn implies a musical state of the soul ("The acoustics of the soul is still a dark, but possibly very important field" - very much so for us today, one would imagine). • Love the polished aluminum finish...

  • Does the polished aluminium need constant buffing or is it lacquar coated to keep the mirror finish?

  • I adore Rolls Royce!
