  • I rediscovered this "song" lost to me for too many years. I heard it in High School decades ago, but never learned the title nor the name of the composer. Through a twist of fate it arrived per email in a CD collection just a few days ago. My most favorite peice of music in all the world. Pure Joy! and this recording must be one of the best every made. Thank you so much for posting it.

  • Simply the greatest! ...And what an outstanding arranger he was; that's what makes this delightfully beautiful melody simply magnificant!

  • Leroy Anderson war a great musician. A bit forgotten and underatet, but still there are many fans of ther wonderful music. Since my childhood I am an admirer of his beautiful music. It is really a pity that in Europe is totaly underated!!

  • I don't know how many dozens of times I have played this but I never tire of it. A wonderful piece of real music.

  • In the earlier part of my life, especially when I was a practicing musician, Leroy Anderson's music was all over the place, and I played much of it myself. It's a shame that except for "Sleigh Ride" during Christmas, you rarely hear his beautiful music much anymore. Thanks for the post!

  • absulutely LOVE this piece ;) someone arranged a piano quartet of this and that's what i'm playing right now, it turned out to be a magical night!

  • @Glinkaism1 You have my story of how I vividly recall getting into loving this kind of music? Well heck, here goes anyway. :) I had always wanted a record player and my folks said what good is it? "You can't eat it. It won't lay eggs" They were farmers. So then the Art B. Thomas Show came to our home town. I was fascinated to see a huge tube type amplifier on the stage of the magician. And for music they played Fielder's RCA 78 of Belle of the Ball and Serenata. It was awesome.

  • @Glinkaism1 Glad to see 'king' is back! Just went to check on my Leroy Anderson & spotted several fatalities. Glad to resurrect this one. Think I got ahead of myself on the comment to your profile, but I wouldn't object strenuously if you wanted to sub my channel. Appreciated finding the Vic Damone in your faves - did you realize it's a bossa nova beat? Added it to my bossa list. I've got a waltz list, too. chuck

  • Great performance of this timeless, exciting and lovely concert waltz!
