Wal-Mart associates Charmaine Givens and Cynthia Murray attempt to bring their health care concerns to Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott as hundreds protest outside of meeting in New York City. Scott was in town for the so-called "Better Health Care Together Coalition" meeting, which attempted to portray Wal-Mart as a health care reformer, when in fact the company is denying health insurance to 735,000 Wal-Mart workers and their children.(5/8/07) visit RWDSU.org for more info.

  • i do agree with all the money walmart makes they should however provide their employees with much better quality healthcare!! They have no excuse with all the money they make to have crap healthcare coverage!!

  • i believe that if other stores are loosing buisness its not becuase of walmart! maybe they should lower their prices because everybody that shop at walmart go there because of their low prices. I shop there all the time!! it is so easy to put the blame on companies like this because others are not making money!!

  • I work for these cheap bastards. I pay $63 every 2 weeks for 80/20 coverage with a 2500 deductable 10000 max out of pocket. This is not BlueCross as it shows on our cards. WalMart pays any bills from a fund that is overseen by BlueCross. This makes it look like "we offer our employees great insurance" when in fact they bleed their workers for all they possibly can before the pay a dime. With the thousands of walmart workers they could negotiate for the best cheapest rates if they cared.

  • ... I wonder how many WM Employees got fired from this protest. :O

  • I understand that a company needs to make money, but even if someone's job isn't hard do they not deserve better healthcare and maybe wages?

I know associates that have blackened teeth and call in all the time because they are sick and cannot afford a doctor.

One or the other. wages or healthcare. Something for the people to make a decent living at least.

  • They don't need to give them healthcare there jobs not dangerous and they don't deserve it buy your own insurance so that walmart can remain the cheapest place to buy products. If they give healthcare there prices would have to go up on there products and to have healthcare given to every worker would just be dumb anyone can work at walmart a freaken 10 year old could work at walmart being so easy. There are other ways to recieve healthcare, people shouldn't force walmart to give healthcare.

  • Freaking idiots! why do you think the prices at walmart are so low? There gonna screw it up, plus what possible work skills would someone working at walmart have that would have them deserve health care? oh I stacked some cereal boxes, oh man this cash register is to much. There paying you, that should be enough for you greedy liberals!

  • This is Liberalism!! Stupid rotting liberal fuckstains hammering away capitalism!!

    You stupid backwards fucks!

  • I received an e-mail that stated that Walmart will not recognize gay marriage and do not offer them family health benefits. The radical Christian organizations want us to boycott Targe t and shop Walmart. The same people who are against abortion would take health care away from adopted children many of which have aids.

  • ----- IT is not WALL-MART's fault why USA people do not have HEALTH INSURANCE as other industrilized nations .... VOTE Dennis Kucinich for president 2008 ,,,, and see UNIVERSAL health care happen ......
