I really miss Michael. His energy was instantly infectious to anyone around him. He was a good friend, and no he wasn't an "idiot who died doing something dangerous." He got taken by a rogue wave AFTER he finished the climb and was back on the sea shelf.
I like the part where he talks about using a rope because he percieves a chance of falling. Look at that climbing he was doing without a rope! It must be amazing to be so skilled that you are comfortable doing that without a rope. One amazing athlete. It's a shame he died so young.
I don't think I'd could be friends with Reardon in real life because he is so overbearing, but I think he is honestly the greatest climber of all time. His onsight solo of Romantic Warrior is in my opinion, the greatest climbing achievement of all time.
