Getting a little sick of people saying I don't need my meds. They work for me and I will continue taking them.

  • I lost my dearest friend to this. He had major highs and major lows. You know how that is. In 2010 he started feeling ‘fixed’. Thought he didn’t need his meds. Threw them out and stopped going. I watched his downward spiral and there was nothing I could do. Not many hours after my last visit I got he call. He had shot himself. I had to help clean out his house.

  • @crimsonda Gosh how terrible. :(

  • I hate when people tell me to just smoke weed. This new trend that marijuana is a cure all for every ailment really annoys the heck outta me. I dont dismiss that it could be helpful but NOT along with psychiatric meds because after awhile pot makes the meds stop working.

  • @balbanes1 I'm not really into smoking weed either. In fact I've only tried it twice in my life. But I'm not really going to try an illegal substance in hopes in helps my bipolar.

  • continued...to tell someone to STOP taking medication is both dangerous and foolish, they need to speak to their doctors if they want to stop medication. BUT my concern is these charlatons that tell people to stop taking medication and they have no academic proof their alternatives work.. people stopping medication could end up in a seriously bad way..including committing suicide. Are these charlatons monitoring their 'patients' in a controlled medical setting? People need to be held accountable

  • @CordeliaOphelia I completely agree. I really am not a believer in meditation, vitamins, etc etc as treatments for bipolar. I think the people that say these things base their feelings on medication on their own personal bias that doesn't have much to do with reality. No one would know better than the patient whether their medication is working or not.

  • You are great, have been watching these videos. I am in the beginning of my process of getting treatment and you are comforting to watch. Keep it up! Thank you.

  • my friend always tells me to stop taking my meds. i tell him to eff off lol and that he has NO idea what i'm going through. i told him "at least im able to stand up and want the help." its on me..not on him if i choose to continue seeking help for my bipolar.

  • @balbanes1 no its not good for people with the same type of mental illness as you. i have clinical depression so rather then being a sad sack of shit, i smoke. but then again i dont get violent and boredom is easy to handle, insomnia?? its not insomnia your body is used to be so relaxed that when there isnt any pot it doesnt have that until you exert energy or stay up longer enough to fall asleep, sucks it doenst help with bi polar

  • @thegreenbastard42011 Weed has its uses in society but in general it is not good for people with mental illness especially if they are already taking meds, it will most likely make the meds stop working and during a major manic episode it will make you paranoid, then you are really screwed because you have to go through the breakdown and weed withdrawal (major insomnia and boredom)simultaneously. Plus there are times when noone has any and that is when i used to get violent

  • @Jairzinho121 thats what i m sayin shes super good lookin,.but if it were that easy , she wouldnt be making these vids. so, in the words of some famous person somewhere out there, the brain, oh that thing is fucked. everyone whose ever lived, the brain what a complex thing that is. i dunno who said it tho.

  • @BipolarStateofBeing weed is illegal because the govt are numbskulls. im not saying stop taking meds, but the liver is being damaged so, if you find a good balance pot can allow you to take the meds but in less amounts, so you dont have to worry about longer term effects, i smoke to relieve my clinical depression and ocd, it helps. bipolar is alot more serious, i realize but maybe it could help. dont be discourage by the illegal thing, its not like the other illegal crap.

  • i agree and for me its as helpfull as when people say ''stop just stop" its like do u think i like feeling like this do u think i chose this or happy that sometimes its hard to speak without my voice shaking< who whould want that!

  • @BipolarStateofBeing Why cant u just look in the mirror and see hot u r and watch all ur problems disappear?

  • Good for you!
