you really dont get paid to storm chase. Storm photography can pay ok but its not consistent. You can do research with NSF grants. If you like weather go to school for meteorology, its tough but well worth it if you are intersted in understanding why. Anyone can chase just know that it is not always safe and thats were the knowledge of weather comes into play.
