"Black Children Left Behind: The Education Gap" - an educational forum
Co-Sponsored W/ Minority Student Education Guild (MSEG) & Gator Chapter of the NAACP

Join The Extraordinary Gentlemen of The Theta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in collaboration with the Minority Student Education Guild and the Gator Chapter of the NAACP as we highlight the disparities between the advancement of African Americans in the education system as opposed to other ethnic groups. We will identify and discuss social, economic, and emotional issues that contribute to this education gap. In addition, we will discuss some possible solutions to this epidemic within our community. Is education equal for all? Do predominantly black schools receive the proper funding to be successful? Find out!

"Museum Nights: A Celebration of Culture"
Co-Sponsored W/ Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Join the Extraordinary Gentlemen of the Theta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we showcase the art on display at UF's own Samuel P. Harn Museum. Guests will be guided through tours of the diverse exhibits; tours will highlight the museum's African and Asian collection on display.

"S.O.S.: A Benefit Bash for a Nation in Need"

Come out on UF's Homecoming Weekend and party for a cause Friday, October 24th. Downtown Gainesville is Guaranteed to be PACKED!!100% of the money raised at this event will be donated directly to the Hope for Haiti initiative. EVERYONE gets in for $5 ALL NIGHT!! Any additional donations will be greatly appreciated; so make sure you come out, have fun, and support a great cause. Be the change you want to see.

Also, please help us support the SAA's 'BEAT HUNGER' initiative by bringing canned goods and other non-perishable food items to this event!!

"Stand Up and Be Counted" Early Voting w/ the Alphas

Early Voting for the November 4th, 2008 General Election will start October 20th, and run through November 1st.
On Sunday the 26th Theta Sigma will be meeting on campus to give all interested voters a ride to the early voting polls. AVOID THE LINES ON ELECTION DAY!!!

Any registered Alachua County voter may vote early. Florida Law requires that you present picture and signature identification in order to vote.
