April 29th, 2011 was certainly not an average Friday, as the wedding of the century took place in London's Westminster Abbey at 11 am. Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton tied the knot in front of millions of joyful viewers around the globe, some that huddled around Buckingham Palace--and most in front of their television screens--just to steal a glance of the fairy-tale-like, royal couple.

[Sam, Londoner Living in NY]:
"It's Amazing! They are so made for each other, and it's brilliant, lovely, so nice."

The royal wedding was one of the most highly anticipated events this year. Curiosity had built up as speculations of the list of guests, outfits and, which wedding dress Kate would be sporting, continued to escalate.

And as millions of proud Brits around the world celebrated the royal nuptials, the rest of the world was also not falling behind. Right in the heart of New York City--Times Square--hundreds of eager folks crowded around to check out the action as five, enormous HD screens broadcast the event live.

Many had been standing in the square since 3am.

[Shirley, Tourist from London]:
"Oh It's just lovely. It's lovely to come and see that they're showing it here as well. Yeah, it's really nice, I'm really pleased to come out and see."

And people from all around the globe came together as they sent out their heart-felt congratulations to the newlyweds.

[Rachel, New York Resident]:
"I think it's very exciting. I just thought it would be nice to come to Time Square, to experience history. I think they are lovely. They seem like such a nice couple. They seem intelligent, beautiful, positive."

[Karen, Tourist from Sweden]:
"It's amazing! It's beautiful. Well I wanted to be there, but it's good to see it here as well. I think she is beautiful in that dress."

[Christie, Tourist from Canada]:
"It's beautiful. I like that they kept it simple. No long service and everything. But Kate, she held it together, I thought she was going to completely loose it."

[Amy, Tourist from Canada]:
"I love the royal couple. I lived in England for four years, so I've been waiting for this for a long time."
