  • This was really helpful, thanks! My Auntie jotted down a knitting pattern and didn't check if I knew how to double-knit, so I was stuck until I found this. Just out of interest, why do you call holding the wool in the right hand "American style"? It's how I and all my family do it, and we're all English. Just curious :)

  • @cg0841 Ah yes, I mean, "American, i.e., English style..." it's just a habit, as in the States we're used to calling it that. Hey, we co-opted French Fries, now English knitting too... :)

  • Thank you for providing this set of videos, I found them very helpful, and I think I will give this a go.

  • @Jabberdoggy You are so welcome! I hope you do give it a go. :) I'd love to hear how it turns out!

  • @ThisnThat54 Aw, thank you so much!!

  • @LiatMGat Oh Liat, Sorry! Duh! :D There it is! I'm set. Just nineteen rows to go before binding off. Couldn't have done it without your videos! I've learned so much. I feel like I've just treated myself to some rich dessert. Next onto the socks on one needle. My hubby will be wanting some felted slippers. Can hardly wait! Thanks again. You've got loads of friends out here I'm sure!

  • @ThisnThat54 Hey there! Yes, there is a special way that I use to bind off. I can't post the link in these comments, but you can search my channel for double knitting and you will see the bind off video. I hope this helps!

  • Liat, I love the casting on method you use for double knitting. Is there any way to bind off so that it looks like the method you use for casting on? For example could you do the Kitchener's stitch but only take off the front needle stitches and then bind off the back needle stitches separately? My head starts spinning when I try to think this through. Seems like it might work but am I forgetting something?

  • @ladymoonblossom84 Sure! Just email me at liat (at) knitfreedom (dot) com and I can email you the polka-dot chart. :)

  • Do you have the polka dot chart somewhere to print and I just haven't found it yet? Sorry if this has been asked before and thank you for doing these video's. My forte is crocheting and while I know how to knit some you make me feel like I have even more experience under my belt! Kudos!
