A bit more about the presentation...

CHRISTOPHER RÆBURN AT ALDWYCH STATION

Saturday 19th February, 2011

LONDON: British fashion designer, Christopher Ræburn will turn station master tonight as he takes over Aldwych Underground ticket office with an engaging presentation of his men's and women's Autumn/Winter 2011 collections, entitled 'Blast'. Utilising an enticing combination of models, film, photography and a unique 'sound' experience in the abandoned station, Ræburn is eager to immerse guests in the full spirit of the Christopher Ræburn brand.

"I felt ready to have some fun with the work — and it's good to experiment", says Christopher Ræburn. "I love the history of the station -- the fact it first opened in 1907. My work is about bringing things back to life, and we hope to do that with Aldwych station tonight -- obviously with a little Ræburn twist".

ABOUT 'BLAST':

Christopher Ræburn presents a bold new chapter in his evolving exploration of military heritage, fabric technology and garment reappropriation with his Autumn/Winter 2011 men's and womenswear collections.
"So much of 'Blast' has been inspired by my research into the original garments, their fabric technology and development," says Ræburn. "Each piece pays tribute to the objective of the original item -- whether protection, camouflage, speed or warmth -- and injects a new life and striking functionality through the complete redesign into a contemporary product".

ABOUT CHRISTOPHER RÆBURN

Christopher Ræburn is a young British fashion designer known for constructing directional men's and womenswear outerwear from reappropriated military garments. Christopher Ræburn has been awarded the prestigious NEWGEN sponsorship at London Fashion Week, winning the accolade for both his men's and women's collections in the same season.
