I purchased a Danmoto Carbon GP for $105 shipped and this is a video of what you get in the kit and how it sounds compared to my stock exhaust. I have been told that the stock exhaust was gutted by the previous owner because it is louder than most other R6s.

The new exhaust has a much lower note at idle and slow speeds but still gets pretty raspy in the high range. But its a SS bike, so its not supposed to sound like a 6L truck.

The engine wasnt quite warmed up fully when I tested it with the dan moto in this vid but once I got on it and rode, it sounded very nice and was quite a bit louder in the low speed range, which is exactly when a lot of cars decide to pull out in front of you. Hopefully they will notice a louder exhaust.

All in all, I feel that it was a great $105 investment in my safety.

  • How is the exhaust holding up? I heard that it leaves burn marks on the exhaust?

  • @GsxR750Speedemon I havent seen any burn marks, are you talking about bluing? The inside of the tip of the exhaust has carbon build up, but thats because my bike is carbed, hasnt been jetted and probably needs a tune so its running a little rich. But ive put about 1K miles on it since going to this exhaust and have no problems, it still sounds good.

  • Where did u buy it?

  • @Bobster675 bought it on ebay

  • Did you have to re-jet it?

  • @snowboard20356 Didnt rejet. I dont think the difference in exhaust pressure is enough to make a huge difference. If I did a full exhaust I would rejet, but I dont plan to spend that much on this bike anyway. Just wanted something that sounded better than stock and louder. I plan to get a fuel injected bike next anyway, ive done plenty of fuel tuning on my car, never touched a carb tho.

  • it sounds siiiick!!! im gona get it for my 2003 r6 i have a two brothers on it right now but it doesnt sound as good as i want it to

  • It wasn't misfiring, it was floating the valves.

Adding a low restriction aftermarket exhaust causes a bike to run too lean (hot), not too rich.

  • i was also going to ask if you needed to rejet. just curious do you think it would help i did notice a couple of times it back fired. i've heard that other people who get the danmoto get less mpg? just wondering if you have noticed that. i ride a cbr600f4 so mine is carbed as well.

  • works in 3 cilindres ?

  • TAKE THIS OFF UR BIKE DUDE!!! I bought a carbon fiber one last year! And the fuel milage of the DanMoto is AWEFUL!! I even noticed a loss of power!!..used it for three months and never put it back on!!

  • Cool thanks! Planning on picking one up for my 2010 ninja 250 which is also carb.. Anyway I'll prob pick it up. Thanks for replying as it is much appreciated ^_^
