I'm from West Virginia, but my ancestors came from northern England. It is interesting to see our Appalachian dancing being done in the area that influenced it - a kind of reverse preservation.

From Chesterfield if I remember right.
(That's not the one near Richmond VA, it's the one with the crooked spire between Sheffield and Nottingham.

Graham, this is a fabulous clip. It's clear to see that you are all enjoying yourselves immensely. If I was in the audience, I couldn't stand still either ! Thanks, it's great to see that the old-time Appalachian folk tradition is being kept alive so well, and that the torch continues to be passed on to the youngsters coming through. Bascom Lamar Lunsford would be mighty proud of you !!
