A conversation with John Owens - creator of the Integrated Modelling Method.
"a procedure modeling notation, a process modeling notation..." - this is where I should have stoped watching. This guy has no idea what he is talking about

You are talking to yourself, no one has asked you anything

This is a complete misunderstanding of BPMN 2. BPMN 2 is a visual programming language; it creates the executable portion of the workflow. It is not meant to be a communication diagraming methodology for business users, rather it is for the detailing of the construct of workflow, data, and rules that underly the process application. To use BPMN 2 correctly, you should consider yourself a programmer.

I am actually inspired to learn more about IMM now, John, as it initially went over my head. Thanks, and I do look forward to more short videos to further prime my knowledge.

I have used this notation. It is good. But you're right, I have seen people use to model rubbish!
I loved the way you summed it up!

Great question and answer session. Good use of the video media.
Do you take questions from anyone?
Notations are great but if you have modeled the wrong thing to start with all the notation in the world won't make it right. Pretty logical really.
