Well to whoever this gentleman in the video may be I must say he seems to have an excellent taste in motorcycles.

If some of you have "dead" DFI boxes, I could try to fix em. I am professional, and have bring life back to my own DFI box. I know also some tricks that help keep those boxes going. Some have found that some internal ground foils on the circuit board benefit of soldering copper wires over and along those foils, cause those are too thin originally. The box is not usually filled with epox etc, and actually can be repaired in many cases. I have made Megasquirt box to someday replace the original.

I have 1983 model with fully functional DFI.!
It had problems several years ago, atmospheric pressure sensor started causing fault code.
I opened the box, and soldered every suspicious point again, and it has worked since. Strangely, when engine is very hot, engine temperature sensor sometimes causes faul code. Sensor and wiring for it has been changed, but with no cure to the problem. It is however not a big nuisance. It has Wiseco forged piston set and ported head. Wheelies by throttle!

Beautiful GPz my friend. Don't ever sell it! That's a piece of history to hold onto. Now would you take that baffle out for us?? Pleaseeeeeee??

I had a 550 back in the day; it was a great bike. Your 1100 look and sounds sweet. I really need to get back to riding, and hope to find an old dinosaur like yours, or maybe a 750 Turbo or CBX, in good shape. A ZRX is also on the list.
Enjoy your ride!
There are still plenty DFI's around. I bought a 2nd GPz to get the parts I needed. People are always asking for the throttle bodies and stock DFI parts. It is amazing and desirable to have your machine in original condition and format. Thanks for the comment.

Cool - I plan to keep the GPZ I am a die hard Kaw man. I ran without a baffle for years. Loud and proud if they don't see you they hear you right? Thanks for the comment. I just put a set of RS flatside smoothbores on it and changed the throttle set up. Thanks

Wow, stunning ride dude! What carb set up are you running? I'm restoring one of these bikes but I'm probably going to have to ditch the DFI as the parts are too hard to find. Was thinking of going to a modern fuel injection set up but the carbs would most likely be the easiest way to go...

@anridapu Thanks a lot man, the GPZ's are some of the best Kawi had to offer back in the day. I'm running Mikuni CV34 carbs. Constant Velocity 34mm off an 83 KZ1000. You get an occasional pop but otherwise they run sweet. There is a Stage 3 carb kit in them also. Both are available on ebay. I sold the DFI Brain box but still have the rest of the DFI system. Not too many still running well. Best of luck on your project. Kaw down!

@geonerd
Thanks man. The old school air cooled bikes were some of the best looking and ran as good as they looked.
