Afghanistan's natural resources could one day provide an almost endless supply of energy for its citizens. This year the Afghan government plans to ask for bids for a series of exploration projects for oil and gas in the north and west of the country.
At the end of a long violent conflict, there are still significant hurdles to overcome before the dream of energy prosperity becomes a reality.

@tradernorton05 they haven't pissed off Afghanistan, you have to be stupid to prefer an investment from China as opposed to America. We owe America so much and would have given a contract to any American company that showed interest, however they are not interested.

@maximummask Where do you learn this shit? The US doesn't only import gas and oil from countries in its own hemisphere. Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and the UK are other countries that it imports from, and they are not in the US's hemisphere.

USA imports all of its oil and gas from countries in its own hemisphere which include Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela. WTF does it want with gas from around the world?
