Collection Statement
The clarity of inspiration is often transitory, yet luminous. It lights up our sacred path. It comes in-between our passing thoughts and pops up when we least expect. It takes energetic imprints already within us and rearranges ideas into deeper meaning of what is occurring. Eugène Carrière's painting The First Communion illustrates the Lorick Fall '10 concept Anges et Cocons, Angels and Cocoons. In theory, the cocoon symbolizes an escape from reality or shelter, and forthcoming of change. Embracing light and nature that inspires: we can see gold doupions that shimmer and sporadic beading that glistens, both pulled in with natural heavy fabrics always bringing the Lady back to earth. Natural brown tweeds, earthy greens, and charcoal grays find themselves as staples in our lady's wardrobe. Hairy woven light silks and chiffons (some printed with a signature) are wrapped, draped, pulled, and pleated to embrace a new state of Lorick elegance. The Lorick Fall/Winter '10 Presentation is inspired by silhouettes as the show engages viewers through playful shadows and intricate lighting. The Lorick Lady embodies the beauty of nature with a redefined twist of elegance and sophistication.
