@JubalCalif Another artist who never appeared on American Bandstand was Rick Nelson. He had the TV series to promote his music.

This ain't live folks, as were few performances of that era...
-
Indeed he did! Many thanks for your input! Hope you have a fab & fantastic Friday! :-)

@JubalCalif -- Yet although Elvis never appeared on AB, Elvis soundalike (and future C&W superstar) Conway Twitty did!
-
@banbanchica -- In the 70s (disco era) dancing improved while pop music quality declined.

Well, I was only going by what I read in an article once about the show. It stated that there were no live performances on the program. If the article was wrong, than so be it. Thank you for your input! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :-)

@JubalCalif -- Although that's generally true there was an exception. Jerry Lee Lewis performed live on AB rather than lip synch.

I was thinking the same thing! I have read that no act ever sang live on Dick Clark's long running TV show "American Bandstand". Reportedly, all the performers lip synced on that program. In fact, with the inteview & the dancing teens, this video looks like its form a sort of Briitsh version of "Bandstand". Another thing I've read is that Dick Clark was able to get almost every big name is rock music for his show with TWO exceptions: Elvis Presley & The Beatles.
