@ProtestantLie you're right they aren't necessarily for beginners, but if you understand chord progression and different keys and basic technique you can learn all of these videos fairly easily with a little hard work and practice. Even if you are a true beginner, these videos can still provide "instruction" and make it MUCH EASIER to learn. Definitely not simply "showing off" at all, although you can't help but notice that because the guy playing is a hardened professional with the instrument

If you actually listen to the song this isn't what elton plays at all. Since he's usually busy singing and playing at the same time he makes his songs much simpler to play. The riff this guy is playing in the video is largely played on a accordion.
For the most part, these videos are less "instruction" and more "showing off". At first glance, you get the distinct impression that they're geared toward beginners; however, you need to be moderately advanced to get anything substantive from them. It's nothing more than the "Piano Mutual Admiration Society".

I remember when rock was young
Me and Suzie had so much fun
holding hands and skimming stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own
But the biggest kick I ever got
was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock
While the other kids were Rocking Round the Clock
we were hopping and bopping to the Crocodile Rock
