  • gical programming that gives them fixed moral codes which are mostly based on their society's (former) religion, but which are not atheistic. The moral statement for every atheist who has stared into the abyss of emptiness which is the core of the worldview and dared to stare back is that "I am supremely important and my wellbeing is supremely important." Just think about the implications.

  • Wow, and you said you weren't judgemental? Atheism means not believing in a god, it does not mean a lack of belief in other things, it certainly does not mean that an atheist is no longer human. Religion has hijacked all that is good about being a human being and claimed it as its own.

Look at the most atheist societies in the 1st world, they are better off than the US,

  • "I am supremely important and my wellbeing is supremely important."

That is the theist worldview. Atheists don't believe there is a supreme being they can chat with, who takes an interest in the most insignificant things they do, who created this whole universe for them, who believe that a single action could either make it proud or disappoint it... Project much, do you?!

Atheists realize they are not the most important thing in the universe, you could learn a thing or two...

  • Yes, religion does offer people the ability to not have to think and that's what's wrong with it.

  • So is this the mantra you chant to yourself every night before going to bed?

  • @MichalPtacnik Hyper owned XD

  • Commie bastards... :D:D:D:D::D i lold

  • @oldgordo61 Faith is a belief in something you know isn’t true. What kind of offering is that?

Faith is an escape plan for reality.

Asking someone to give up their life for your cause is easier if you can convince them of an afterlife better than the one they are living. Religion and War have been great bedfellows

Your reconciliation with death lies with your ability to conceive of nothingness, once you are capable of doing that, death, is nothing to fear.

  • @AntEyeTheist Well that is where faith comes in. At least faith gives people hope. Your alternative doesn't even give that...only an escape from existance one we die.

Almost everyone will fight for thier life....no one wants to die not even an atheist...Only a person with real suicidal thoughts would gladly embrace oblivion...but that is what atheism offers....because that will be the only thing that will relieve of thier pain if there is indeed no afterlife.

  • @oldgordo61 Only while you live will you grieve for your loved ones.

It is only in this life, the only life we can be sure of, that you can reunite with your memories of them, triggered perhaps by something they once held, touched, made, wore or wrote.

I know it is hard to think that this is it, but until someone comes back from the dead and tells me otherwise, I must reconcile.

A lie is a lie even if everybody believes it and the truth is the truth even if nobody believes it.

    Sorry!

  • @AntEyeTheist I do celebrate life..I thank God for giving me daily breath, my eyes to see, my ears to hear and that one day I will see loved ones who passed away.

Does it not bother you in the least that some of your friends and loved ones have passed on never to be reunited..ever? Can you actually convince me that you are okay with that? Remember you are still here and they are gone. Can you even tell that to a parent who lost a child that will never be reunited with that child again?

  • @oldgordo61 Celebrate life!

  • @AntEyeTheist Even manmade artifacts such as a simple tombstone will crumble away and there will be nothing left to preserve the deceased one's identitity.

  • @AntEyeTheist Where does empathy and caring come from then? Human beings by nature are a duality of opposing forces, with one side struggling to do the right thing the opposite side is subject to lusts, carnal desires and selfish pride... the natural man.

True religion comes when one who is a true follower of Jesus and puts away the natural man.

When society does away with God altogether and relies soley on the whims of individuals will be the day of its destruction.
