My entry into Ghosthonda's flint and steel challenge. Light a candle using flint and steel for time. I have been lying low since Thanksgiving, so I am sorry if anyone thought that I just stopped commenting or viewing. I am having my gall bladder removed as soon as I can get in. any way, I was getting stir-crazy, so I thought I would do a quick vid. God bless.

  • You did that like a pro. I like the birds nest with the paper around it to direct the way the air moves that you blow into the tinder bundle. Very ingenious (sneaky). God bless.

  • @MrItchyElbow Thanks man.

  • Seemed Quick! How did you do it?

  • @motorhead1 Created a glowing ember from a spark that fell onto charred cloth (tender). I put that into a home-made bird's nest and blew it into a flame. Seems like magic every time that I do it. God bless. John

  • Nice lighting the candle! Good luck with your gall bladder.

  • @MiWilderness Thank you my friend. John

  • @snaponjohn100 Thanks! I am going to try and make some Charred Cloth using an Altoids tin and some pieces of 100 percent cotton t-shirt. Never tried it before. Also bought a Magnesium Firestarter which has a good striker for producing a spark when you run the back of your knife blade over it. Cool Videos! Thanks

  • @ghosthonda Thank you for having the great challenge. Getting gall bladder out this Wed. God bless. John

  • @crunksknunk Hey thanks for the kind words. I go in to surgery Wed. God bless. John
