Google HTML5 canvas element in action

Patrick Chanezon, developer advocate at Google in Mountain View, Calif., gives us a tour of some of the coolest examples of HTML5 now being developed -- including a feature called canvas.

He also explains the code behind what you're seeing.

HTML5 is the next major revision for hypertext markup language.

Although development completion is years away, elements of HTML5 -- including canvas -- already are being woven into Web browsers.
