@01stephen10 MOT not too much of an issue, use bribery! :-)
Just kiddin. Seriously though, MOT is OK because it's such a specific checklist. So it's no worse than trying to get any other 1976 Mini through! "Seatbelts: YES. Exhaust blowing: NO. Brakes: YES" etc. etc.

@shittybill93 Good spot. On this car the steering tie rods are actually behind the hub centre, so I think they'd have to stretch to see toe-in. On dismantling the car I found the front subframe had a split the entire way through the rear section - so I'm wondering if the whole subframe flexes causing, errr, "dynamic" toe!? Eek!! Although I've seen this happen on Minis before, I'm not sure if the split was cause or effect of the problem - we'll find out this summer hopefully :-)

@blainyrules no any powerful fwd car will give torque steer :)
-
That's why REAL cars are either RWD OR 4WD.

Wait, isn't torque steer something that only happens to turbocharged cars?

Heavy duty tierods and in order, this happens on gmc heavy duty pickups when doing 4wd lanuches
the front wheels hate eachother

Thats not torque steer, pause at 0:08, you can see both front rims. The reason its all over the place is because the tierods are on the FRONT of the wheel and not the behind, therefore when you grunt it the tierod is being squeezed but the force of the acceleration from the wheels. Look up DURAMAX tierod fail, its common in gm trucks and the fix is heavy duty tierods so they cannot bend.
