Over the past decade Africa has seen phenomenal growth - overall government revenue has increased by about 7% of GDP. This growth has been accompanied by reforms, 3 of the top 10 reformers in the IFC's "doing Business" Index have been African countries. Having followed the rules and implemented the right policies, African countries are still sitting in a vulnerable position as the global community looks like it won't meet its aid commitments. So what can African countries do to get through the tough times? Sue Beukes put this questions to Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute.
