Choices [HD]

Red Ribbon Week is a week during which students all across the country promote the awareness of drug and alcohol abuse at school and learn about the consequences of these choices. This video was made by students, for students. Since elementary school, students are showered with sugar-coated slogans and prompted by candy to recite drug-free pledges but does this really mean anything to people anymore? Or does this in fact prove to encourage students in engaging in these activities in defiance of these "childish" activities? The truth is, the core message needs to be shared with our peers and we hope this message will encourage others to reach out to their friends.

I hope you are able to take away something from watching this. More importantly, I sincerely hope you will take the time to think about you or your friends in these situations or hurting in other ways and I really encourage you to take that step. Reach out and be there for that person. Be that positive impact in someone's life.

During Red Ribbon Week one of my students was tired of hearing announcements about kids that had died because of drugs and exclaimed, "Nobody cares!" Pretty cold, huh? Some people can't get the message no matter what you say, but you keep saying it for the one or two people who do get the message. Nice work.
