Hey Guys,
This is my sort of New addition. He is on loan to me, as his owner is unwell. I have looked after daz for 6 years on and off previous to this, so was offered for me and mum to continue to ride him, keep him fit and useful for his owner, who comes and sees him most weekends.

I DO NOT RIDE WESTERN, however, if there are any western geeks out there, i would love to hear it, because I am really interested in some tips and advice but No nasty crit please :) Going to have a few lessons, so I wont be so useless and rubbish on him. Hes a good reining horse, (or was in his young days) and has been out of practice of 6 years, so excuse all of our rusty-ness

About my 4th time ever riding western to be honest, so very rare for me.

Thanks guys

  • hes a stunning horse:) he looks more like a reining horse than a pleasure horse ? the only thing i would tell you to do different is to lower the hand your not holding the reins in :p but for not being a real western person, your body position looks really good (:

  • @courbaba Thankyou! It's really hard, because when riding english you have to keep you hands up, so its just the complete opposite.

And yes, he is a reining horse :) xxx

  • You are doing awesome just remember to keep your body back when you stop.. it's pretty good but you tipping forward a bit at the end! Awesome job for only your 4th time riding western! :)

  • @canadianjumpergirl14 Thankyou, I will remember that! xx

  • Very good, you can tell you aren't a western rider but you do very well, just gotta learn the movements more as you aren't used to them, I randomly ended up on your channel saw the SJ then boom western and I was like YAAY. It's nice to see :)

  • Brooke you look so good and you most certainly ride very well. What a lovely specimen . James

  • i miss daz :( but hes at an amazing home ;)xx

  • you look great :D as for your hand that isnt holding the reigns let it drop by your side and let it just hang beside you :) wish my QH x mare was a western pony. its so much fun!

  • Ah I love riding Western - although it's been a while! It's so much comfier! Altough you don't know where to place your other hand that's not on the reins:L

That horse is beautiful non the less!X

  • @brookiinaa totally understand ! you do look very good though :D

  • Good riding! All I can say is keep your cues softer, especially when backing up. If you put your heels down a bit more while riding and in the stop it'll help too. Other than that you guys look great! :)

  • Oh my goodness, that horse is so beautiful!

He looks so nice to ride, and that he's looking after you :3 xx
