I have one and yes I would recommend it. It's short scale and easier for a beginner than long scale. A simple, solid bass. Good quality for the price as well.

@BenReed yeah it's okay it's a short scale though I bought one and put a warmoth flying v bass neck on it also I put a khaler bridge on it.

@tornmask i had one in the 70s. And i liked it just fine. Had a good tone,and neck was very easy to play. Play the bass you like! So What, if someone don't like. It only matters what you think,or like.

i have the eb3 and i like the way it plays. but i am going to start collecting basses from all different types. im getting the squier bass soon ill see how i like it

How easy are the pickups to rest your thumb on?
Some people have commented on the humbuckers being too flat to use

This buck is a small one, i use a bartolini (BC5CBC - dual coil humbucker) and it sets high enough. For me to keep my thumb on. But i ride the bass somewhat higher, say body at 830 headstock at 230. If you look at a clock. But that has my four arm resting on the bass body. So my hand is already in a good spot for playing to me. Lot of players have a 700 and 100, or 800 and 200. I play with thumb and two fingers alot though. But when i am thumpin i set the thumb down.
