Okinawa Habu Mongoose

Are you afraid of snakes? This is video from 1991 taken in Okinawa at Gyokusendo Cave. They have a snake zoo where they show the Okinawan Habu a highly venomous viper native to Okinawa and the Mongoose one of the few wild animals that live in the isl...and chain. My mom was visiting us at the time and we held a rather large python on our shoulders. Pythons are not native to the island of Okinawa but their skin is used in the manufacture of a local instrament called a sanshin.
