  • I must be person #1 to GAIN weight when going GF. I'm VERY allergic to rice and corn. After going GF and dairy free, I ate more rice and corn...substituting rice milk for cow's milk and corn grits for cream of wheat. After 6 months and a 20 pound weight gain, my GI tract started shutting down. I ended up having multiple bowel obstructions; several hospitalizations later, I was started on IV nutrition. In the end, I did lose a lot of weight because I was vomiting everything including water.

  • @2136cass This happened because you had a leaky gut before you went GF. It's not a good idea to switch to alternatives right away when going GF Better to avoid all grains for a while.

  • I have lupus and feel that gluten is probably a trigger. What do you think? I have a cousin with Lupus too.

  • @dooners2u Yes, it can be a trigger

  • Does rice have gluten?

  • No, rice does not contain the gluten I'm referring to in the video.

  • do you have any statistics on non-caucasians? Are there any other populations which have problems with gluten?

  • In Italy, we eat bread and TONS of whole grains and even white grains, and we do NOT have problems like in America.

  • WHAT THE HECK IS GLUTEN THOUGH?

  • weightwatchers...it workss seriously

  • I eliminated gluten from my diet months ago but could not shed any stubborn pounds. I went totally grain, pseudo grain & legume free 2 weeks ago so I hope that helps.

  • i started a gluten-free, casein-free, low glycemic diet last september. i only eat 'healthy ' fats such as coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, raw almonds and avocados. no red meats. it's been tough, but the changes in my body have been amazing. in addition to losing 39 lbs (on an insulin pump), i lowered my insulin requirements from 85 units a day to 24. i am staying pretty strict, but am fighting a label of fibromyalgia, and am currently not doing as much exercise i'd like.

  • This is such an amazing, straightforward video, thank you very much! I don't think people realize how much gluten affects them negatively. Bloating, discomfort, dull skin, all of those symptoms are reversed!

  • in three weeks of going GF I felt like I lost weight, the swelling in my body went away. The best part is most of my cellulite disappeared from my legs. Not Kidding.

    And happy you feel happy.
