  • I can't remember..............

  • Did you ever acquire the skill of memorizing a whole entire page of text after reading it only once?

  • I do remember as a child being able to memorize numbers, names, poetry etc. without much difficulty. At about 8 yrs old I began to pick out tunes on the piano that I had heard on recordings or TV. As with anything the more you do it, the easier it becomes.

  • First I study and analyze the tune I want to learn. That way I already have the chord structure and any musical "twists"or surprises in my head. Then I play through it slowly, increasing the speed as I become more familiar with it.

Most music I can learn quickly but there are some pieces that demand more than a day's study. It is in repetition that you become comfortable with the music and began to have the piece under control.

  • How are you able to learn tunes in less than a day?

Were you born with a good memory or did you develop it?

  • "You Took Advantage Of Me" by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart.

  • oh...it's familiar song...in 2:20

    is it improvisation??
