How does plowing work? Are you given a list of streets to plow beforehand?

Yes, computer list printed out for each storm. Generally the same route, some drop out and some are added in. Major costs in repairs to equipment and having backup equipment standing by. Plowing is extremely hard on vehicles and equipment, yet the job must be done immediately, so backups are a must. I expect $15,000 in costs each winter, barring catastrophes. I'm a small operation, could be much worse. Hard to tell if you are making money, but you know you are having a good time!

some one tell this guy that if the snow is flying over the plow and over the hood of the truck he is going to fast. and will break something sooner or later....

Don't try this at home, kids!! :-) These are highly trained plow operators with many many years of experience.
