Glenn Gould - Bach Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 [12 - 19]

The majority of the photos were taken during the recording sessions for Gould's 1955 debut recording of the Goldbergs.

While I realize the "Gouldbergs" are in abundant supply here on YouTube, I felt I would give a rendition of my own. I wanted to do something in tribute of Glenn, and I couldn't come up with a better idea than the Goldbergs. I hope they capture as many new listeners as old, and perhaps make fans for Bach and Gould alike.

A sudden heart attack sadly. He was frail as a child. Nonetheless, he's accomplished so much in his short life! What an inspiration!

And if you play Bach by Gould backwards with a turntable, you can hear subliminal messages like, "Eat your brocoli". I swear!

Indeed! I agree, disliking this piece is incomprehensible in my mind as well. This said, we can't expect everyone to understand and appreciate Bach by Gould. Give people a chance, let the music grow on them, and let's just be grateful for it.

I wake up to Bach each morning that's given to me, it sets the pace for the day.
