Pat Robertson recently made some reasonable comments on the drug war. He seems to come out in favor of marijuana decriminalization.

"criminalizing marijuana, criminalizing the possesion of a few ounces of pot, and that kind of thing, I mean it's just, it's costing us a fortune, and it's ruining young people. You people go in to prisons, they go in as youths, and they come out as hardened criminals, and that's not a good thing." -Pat Robertson

In compliance with 17 U.S.C. § 107, the Pat Robertson clip used in this video is only used for fair comment and news reporting. The use is (1) educational, (2) the original work was the subject of criticism, (3) the portion of the original used was only enough to convey necessary information for fair comment, and (4) the effect on the potential market of the used clip is not diminished by the use itself because, in accordance with Folsom v. Marsh, the comment/criticism is the focus of the work, while the clip is only included to explain it.

  • Yes, he said that & looked directly into the camera because he believes what he says!

I would leave-off mocking a man of God...if you don't agree with him O.K, but don't shoot the messenger.

God must be tired of the mess our government has made over a simple plant created for man's use. The Bible said God looked on all that He made & said "It is good...."

That means there are thousands of uses for this plant...

Interdiction is all about money. $B's are wasted on piss-testing...

  • @Backyard76 It's hard to believe that Pat Robertson is truly a messenger of God when he has so often lied. He said God told him there would be mass killings from a terrorist attack on the US in 2007, and that oil would reach $300/gallon in '09. In 1976, he said that the world would end in 1982.

All the preceding statements were false, as a matter of fact, not opinion, so, at best, he's a false prophet. It's hard to see anything wrong with mocking a false prophet.

  • Btw...Robertson isn't advocating for pot. He just realizes how asanine these Cannabis laws are. It's time to wake up. The Insitute of Medicine has declared that there is no scientific evidence supporting the gateway theory. I know of a guy that has smoked it for 30 years, and has zero desire to try narcotics. According to the Henningfield ratings ranked after Dr. Jack E. Henningfield of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, marijuana isn't as addicting compared to alcohol and nicotine.

  • @zekdom Yeah, I totally agree. He did say, "I'm not exactly for the use of drugs." (I didn't play the whole clip because I try to keep my videos short as possible, and I doubted people would get the wrong idea in thinking he actually smokes it.) I too, was pro-legalization for years before I ever tried marijuana, and I only tried it a couple times and figured it wasn't for me, but there's still no excuse to continue ruining peoples' lives over the drug war!

  • You doctored this video. Pat Robertson saying something that's not absolutely stupid? That never happened!

Years ago, mediocre TV host Arthur Godfrey did an anti-pot commercial in which he stated that pot, "hurts their chromosomes." He was totally uncomfortable with the word "chromosomes." And, how can heal the "hurt?" Band aid? Neosporin?

Auto-fellatio while driving only works if you've got a steering wheel with a large diameter. Even then, it's hard to use the cell phone at the same time.

  • @polemius01 hahahahaha! "Even then, it's hard to use a cell phone at the same time." Plus, if you get pulled over while doing it in California, you can say, "But officer, I was following the hands-free law!"

  • @Backyard76 There is no god stop being silly.

  • @IHavAUTubeSadly It actually doesn't. Patent number 6630507, as represented by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, states that the cannabinoids that get you high are antioxidants and neuroprotectants. The American Journal of Addiction 2005 presents a study that failed to find hippocampal changes in long term users. The European Journal of Neuroscience 2007 shows that CBD(chemical compound in marijuana that gives ya a buzz) reduced striatal atrophy caused by 3-nitropropionic acid.

  • @Megsgirl247 Cheeseburgers can be abused too. Also, marijuana is not a gateway drug. We've proven that marijuana is not a gateway drug. *National Survey on Drug Use and Health 2009, sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations:"There are 21.8 million illicit drug users in the USA, and 16.7 million of those users are pot users. The other 5.1 million are cocaine users, ecstasy users, etc."

The numbers would be more balanced if pot were a gateway drug :)

  • it's not the use but the ABUSE OF IT! Marijuana is the 'Gateway' drug to the worse drugs like cocaine, heroin etc. Now I'll tell ya Drug Abuse is bad and addictive and it not only affects the person who does it but the family and loved ones as well. However, some will argue that for medical reasons for terminally ill patients it helps ease their pain....apparently everyone will have an opinion on this matter. God Bless

  • @zekdom if your a slacker you'd be a slacker without pot as well...

  • @FAILocracy I like the middle-of-the-road stance you took on being accused of mocking a "man of God." I agree with you--he definately seems like a false prophet.

  • You know what else impairs driving?

    1. Reading a bible while driving.

    2. Painting a water-colored version of the Mona Lisa while driving.

    3. Folding your freshly dried clothes while driving.

Do we outlaw these things because they could possibly impair a person ability to safely operate a motor vehicle? No.

  • Ya brother! thanks for making this video. posted on iwantbud.com spreading the word. peace

  • In Canada we joke that everyone smokes pot, they just don't talk about it. In fact, a lot of people do, from all walks of life. I know a lot of very successful people who smoke it recreationally & it doesn't interfere with their lives. MJ is like any other mood altering substance. If you use it with intelligence & moderation, it can be fun and even beneficial. Used excessively, it may sap your motivation, depress you or interfere with other aspects of you life.

  • Thanks for your reply, I didn't vote for Pat, I don't hang with his crowd.

Still, I have been praying for many years that the truth about marijuana laws would be made manifest, be made know.

Around here, he is so popular, WSMV-4 Nashville has the 700 Club on right after NBC Today...and they WILL pay attention!

The interdiction crowd is running out of excuses...I'm not promoting using drugs, but I'm tired of people parading around acting like hero's, whilst the drug culture continues.
