Sunstrokes For Obama!

Colorado is a fickle state. Weather can go from scalding to shivery in moments. This particular Saturday was a preview for the dog days of the convention: hot and dry, with the famous mile high designation mandating sunscreen.

I've been wondering for some time now what the Democratic campaigns can pull off as they struggle to keep engagement high in all fifty states while slugging it out delegate by delegate in the remaining primaries. In a piece of serendipity, I called up a friend on April 19th, and she told me there was an Obama rally going on in Civic Center Park.

In one way or another, most of the speakers and the people I spoke with at the sparsely attended event were grappling with the engagement question as well. And the enthusiastic supporters were grappling with the steady beat of the sun, where only a few days before sleet had stung faces and forced coat collars up.
