The Upper Kahlgrund

A very brief profile of a rural area in the heart of Germany. This movie was just thrown together from various images filmed during a walk in December. Some day I intend to make a better version: think of this as a pilot.

By "political boundary" were you talking of the iron curtain? Did it run through these villages pictured in your video? Thanks much.

No, the iron curtain was half a day's drive away. It was during the time of the Holy Roman Empire that the Kahl served as a political boundary: the left bank belonged to the Prince Elector of Mainz, the right bank to the Count of Isenburg.

Klar, das ist Geschmacksache. Viele Leute mögen "alt" und finden es überhaupt nicht asozial. Aber wenn ich in Schöllkrippen drehe, verspreche ich dir, das Billardcafé, den Club2305 und, ähm, die Supermärkte zu erwähnen. Oder gibst du mir ein paar Tipps?
