This guy said in another video that he used a mine lab to find the treasure. I guess his memory alters depending on which detector manufacturer pay him the most .
I only wish the American law governing treasure trove was like the UK. The laws in the US make criminals out of hobbyists that would obey the laws governing this hobby. The USA is out dated in this type of activity.
I see that National Geographic is going to do a show on this hoard. It's called "Lost Gold of the Dark Ages" and airs April 18 at 9 pm and again on April 25. Should be interesting!
IT DOES NOT PAY FOR ITSELF. You (manufacturers) need to be honest and let people know, they will NOT "Get rich" with a detector. I know it sells machines but it attracts irresponsible people, who don't have a love for history or the hunt. They just want MONEY and are ruining it for the rest of us.
He found a piece here and there in a field over a period of time, when his collection started to grow he got scared and reported it. Then the archies went in and found a lot of it.
I would find that I would have found that hoard with an ace 150 or even a Bounty hunter because it was a great clump of metal waiting for someone to swing a coil over it?
Now want to do a commercial find the woman that found the treasure the size of a postage stamp with a tesoro that is working it. That woman had to dig every thing in order to find that treasure.
I found that metal detecting is a lot of digging but can still be a lot of fun.
