I still cannot believe Pierre Boulez called The Death of Klinhoffer "bad film music".... crazy old fool! It's a masterpiece. And John Adams is getting better and better with every opera, just think about "Dr Atomic"

Boulez conducted a great Rite Of Spring, but his own compositions, I can live without, having heard a few.

He was kidnapped in New York for a ransom of a relatively small ransom. I think it was $50,000. The cops screwed up and a bum took the ransom money from a garbage can. I am not sure about the rest. Even if Klinghoffer was a loan shark, he was still elderly and handicapped. The PLO are animals.

Did this opera ever mention that Leon Klinghoffer was a loan shark back in New York? He also was kidnapped in the early '80s.
