Terrible et magnifique. Un sommet de perfection.

Are we seriously arguing about politics on a John Adams video?

@Keytaster it is so rare when critics really do something good for any of us.

Awesome! John Adams and Philip Glass, true, original leaders in modern, classically founded composition. :) I always refer back to their work when asking, "did I go to far with this composition? Is this concept to new? Does it combine to many genre's?" and I can always find some confidence from Glass and Adams.

I also agree with Maestro TJS this is Awesome in every respect.

@Keytaster Pierre Boulez can go suck it. Considering the worthless shit he has composed and other worthless shit he has endlessly proselytized for his entire career, he hardly has a right to be calling something "bad." But I'm biased since I think the serialists were the most destructive influence in the history of music. Pure totalitarianism...with the attitude to go along with it. At least recognize your approach is one among many, not necessarily better.
Anyway, this chorus is brilliant.

What an obscure chorus; I like it.

I still cannot believe Pierre Boulez called The Death of Klinhoffer "bad film music".... crazy old fool! It's a masterpiece. And John Adams is getting better and better with every opera, just think about "Dr Atomic"

This is the most unusual rythmic part of the opera, brilliant. John Adams once again at his best and worth waiting for every time I listen.
