Unfortunately, the audio desynchronized with the video when I was recording this. I've since resolved the problem, but I'd rather not record it again.
I would have fought Zero without being so cheap, as I can get through his battle and Sigma's first form without taking damage relatively easily, but it really is a pain spending 4 minutes getting to his second form and then getting hit. After practicing this for a very long time I just started going through the Zero battle quickly. This took quite a bit of patience to do.
Things to note:
-The hitbox for Zero's saber projectile actually starts a distance away from his body's hitbox, meaning you can sit right by him when he does it and not get hurt.
-Sigma in X2, unlike just about every other boss in any X game, actually loses two notches of health from a first-level charge shot (the small green one).
-While people often call Sigma's second form in X2 one of the easiest in the X games, that's only if you exploit his severe weakness to the Strike Chain. It's VERY hard to get through that battle without getting hit, and as you can see, I was close to doing it until I messed up near the end.
-Without any upgrades or weapons, Sigma's second form takes 64 shots to defeat, more than any other enemy in a single battle in any other Mega Man game I know of.
-Notice how Sigma's head is manipulated to shoot enemies where I want it to (the ground). There are two brief moments in time as he's ending his ground blast attack that X's position affects where his head will go next, and where it will shoot enemies. Jumping off the wall at around the time I did each time will achieve the desired effect.
I will keep practicing every now and then and if I just happen to finally get through all three battles without taking damage, and have it recorded, I'll put it up in place of this.
Is this from Megaman X collection? or the SNES version?

This is from the SNES version, but works equally well on the X Collection.

I did that too a couple of years back, with the exception that I picked up two E. Tanks and used them in those fights. Did you notice that when you do that, Zero appears somewhere during the credits roll, dashing across the screen, which he doesn't normally?

Yes, I believe (though haven't tested personally) Zero passes you on the highway when you don't collect any heart tanks.
