  • The only one of the 3 survivors of Hood still alive at the time the show was made and you don't want to hear what he had to say about it?...what intolerable ignorance .

  • The one thing about war, you kill a bad guy and you feel good, 1-3 seconds later you realize that you can easily be next.

  • "Guinness is Good for You"

  • @Lillie1986 Actually HMS Prince of Wales and the battlecruiser HMS Repulse were the first ships to be sunk exclusively by land based air power, no submarine involved.

  • @Albacorewing The guns on the prince of wales also kept jamming up. She was so badly damaged that she barely made it out of there, and was in drydock for repairs for a long time after that. She was eventually sunk in the pacific my a japanese submarine

  • ive notice evry time that the blakc and white color of the movie have colors when it was paused or the clip start!

  • 3 survied from 1400 oh man...

  • no the shell penetrated the BELT

  • @Albacorewing

no they couldnt. they could fire more PER SALVO, but their ROF was less than one Bismarck.

KGV ROF was 2 rpm (if no jams etc). Bismarcks was between 2.3-3 rpm. At 3 rpm jams happened, so if you go by 2.3 rpm, or 2.5 rpm over 5 min of rapid fire you have: KGV=100 shells, Bismarck at 2.3=92, at 2.5=100

at 3 rpm (if no jams......)=120.

KGV guns were also lower velocity which means they were good horizontal penetrators, but not good verticle, bismarck was the opposite.

  • The King Geroge V class carried very formidible armament. Ten 14 inch guns, they could fire much faster than the Bismarck's eight 15 inch guns if in proper working order. The problem was the Prince Of Wales which was also of the King George V class had not gotten the bugs out and even had civilian workers on board, so they were handicapped.
