  • I wonder how wild horses get their hooves trimmed...

  • @AllThePaints A wild horse moves between 20 and 50km per day on abrasive ground that is wearing constantly at the horny (wall and sole) part of their hoof capsule. Domestic horses are kept on soft green paddocks or generally non abrasive ground and move hardly at all - this is why we trim, to overcome our "not quite right" environment.

  • All because they didnt take care of him in the first place. My friends pony is like this, only worse. I have been on her for months. I am about ready to go and take the horse away if she doesnt get this done RIGHT NOW.

  • @HORSELOVE59 The way I see it you have 3 choices. It depends on whether you want to keep her as a friend and educate her or whether you just want to punish her so...

    1. Do nothing except nag her (Nothing will change)

    2. Book a farrier and get her to pay (Horse get a chance and so does she)

    3. Report her (Horse may get a chance but all further hope of improvement is probably lost)

  • WHO ever owns this poor horse...1 why would u EVER let this horses hooves get that bad!! Thats horrible, yes i understand that u trimmed them, but get off your lazy ass and take care of your damn horse! You shouldnt have rights to own ANY horses!

  • :-(

  • WoW :D who ever trimmed the hooves did a great job :)

  • that is definatly great farrier

  • @savvydreambuilder hmmm, I didn't know that! This is very interesting and I'm glad I asked :)

  • @AllThePaints they just grind their hooves on rocks

  • @Saartje05 unfortunately people are incredibly stupid. Owning something doesn't preclude a person from not knowing anything. There is no test prior to purchase and no licence for horse owners. Maybe there should be :)
