The 2009 South Atlantic League Champions The Lakewood BlueClaws

Congratulations to our Lakewood BlueClaws!

What a Year! First it was the parent-club, the Philadelphia Phillies, winning their first World Series title since 1980 with an exciting triumph over the Tampa Bay Rays. How about those former BlueClaws too, from first-baseman Ryan Howard, to ace pitcher Cole Hamels, to starting catcher Carlos Ruiz.

BlueClaws fans got to see those guys as they were still developing as baseball players, and now they are World Champions. The BlueCaws join the Phillies as champions winning their second South Atlantic League Championship.

According to a Minor League Baseball survey done last year, the BlueClaws organization was recognized as one of the most affordable minor league companies to visit among the nearly 200 in the country. Make sure to visit First Energy Park as The Lakewood BlueClaws try to win their third championship.
