I viewed the lyrics to this great song and thought it would be a perfect song for Jackie Evancho

The song that inspired me to take up the piano as a child - my ambition to play this - and I did - not with a symphony orchestra though!

The wheel of life does come off at times, and when it does, what can you do? Hearbreaking total times, to state the simple and honest truth. It leaves you in a complete and utter mess.

Beautiful music and lovely video. I cried at the end when your dedication came up (and at the end of your video of Legend of the Glass Mountain). Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful tribute to your late father. I have no doubt he was very proud of you and rightly so. I too love this music I have music in my heart.

jadore,
I first heard the Dream of Olwen in the 1950's, as the theme of a radio or TV show. It stayed in the back of my mind all these years, until I found it again in your lovely video. Your dedication of two videos to your father touched me.
Last night I downloaded four versions of this lovely music from Youtube, including yours. Which recording did you use?

Thank you for this. My father aptly named Albert Tinkler was a brilliant pianist but sadly died in 2002. One of his masterpieces was his own arrangement of Dream of Olwyn, Warsaw Concerto and Rachmaninov Concerto No 2 which he intertwined so beautifully together. We played this at his own funeral service and again at my mums in 2006, and just to carry on the tradition I have asked that it be played at mine when the time comes. Just like you I loved my dad, always will and miss him terribly. x

I would love to have heard him.
They say a picture paints a thousand words, but music revives a thousand memories.
Your dad will always live in your memory, to what extent is up to you. x x x

Over 50 years ago, I had a terrible crush on a student teacher in my high school. I think it was mutual because he brought me sheet music to play after school. Dream of Olwen was one of them. I still remember how flattered I was that a college man paid attention to me! Of course today, he would have been dismissed! But when I hear this music I am a teen-ager again!
