What kids need to realize is this ... back when WE were listening to bands like this in our teens, you never heard this stuff on the radio. This music was passed around on tapes like dirty secrets and if you were lucky enough to have the vinyl, you had GOLD! It never got better than 1975-1985 ...

i cant stand music today, well most of it. but i love this 80's stuff

Wow... I remember a hazy night somewhere in 1985 I think. I was disc-jockeying at a place for college students. The owner had asked me to "keep it disco". The audience was luke-warm to the repertoire but did not complain openly. At midnight I said To Hell With You ot the owner and put this one on. The dance floor exploded.

has it really been 31 years?

@rchdsmith--i disagree--you remind me of one of these 20 somethings that don't like any song that's not 'new',current at the time of now.my nephew's like that..ie
"man that song's got to be at least a year old man"..either that or you're a 70's hippie..i mean c'mon..the 70's sucks.

@sirprenante oh oh I don't really believe in that zodiac stuff and all esoteric turd but keep me amused, what's next? After Capricorn, when will it change and what are the pronostic?

So many relatively young listeners (younger than the material) are astounded that music of this type is 25 to 35 years old, and have expressed dismay that today's music does not compare well. The fact that musicians of 30 years ago stood a fair chance of earning money on every distributed copy of their work might have had something to do with the creative spark, motivationally speaking. And if that came to naught, they could always sell out - at least temporarily (Pretty in Pink)....

One thing is certain, there is cool music being made right this very second, and it will be recognized as such 30 years from now. In the meantime, the vast majority listen to the most awful, commercially successful crap, just like the '80s and '90s.
