  • Well I had my bone marrow transplant about 6 or so months ago now. I'm back in hospital with complications and graph vs host disease. They are working on it & hopefully things will get better. Scared but hopeful

    kat.

  • @KraftyKatsy i was diagnosed with AML same as u and had chemotherapy, total body irradiation and stemcell transplant, it was depressing at first because of the side effects that i had like vomiting, lost weight, rashes all over my body and at the same time doctors can't assure me that i will be disease free, but now i can totally say i fine and back to my normal life thanks to my supporting family. just think positive! u will be ok and i will pray 4 u!

  • My dad got AML on November 25, 2008 and died from this disease on May 6, 2010. Dad said he wish he had never done the chemo. I think it did not work because of his age was 71 years old. The doctors refused to do a bone marrow because they say it does not work on people over 55 years of age. This is a horrible disease and i wish you all the best.

  • OMG I'm so happy to see someone has made it through this horrible disease. I was diagnosed late october last year with AML. I'm going to hopefully have the stemcell transplant in january. I already underwent rounds of chemo. Please send me a msg if you see this ok. Thanks & BIG HUGSSSSSSSSSSS :)

  • Thanks for sharing My brother Alan 52 has Acute Leukemia and Hep C We got the word yesterday an the family of course is in shock. He is in intentive care They are washing his blood and going to start Chemo. I know he has a battle ahead and he thinks he going to die. He has a 50/50 chance with treatment. He is in poor health. I had sinus cancer when I was 9 and had to go thru radiation therapy etc. the doctors told my parents i had maybe 6 mo. I am now 50 and the cancer never came back.

  • Thank you for sharing your story. My Mom was just diagnosed. We are all in shock. Your words are encouraging!!!!
