Judy Collins ~ MR TAMBORINE MAN ~ Bob Dylan.

I dedicate this song to Joseph who is fighting in harms way in Afghanistan.

  • Judy's studio version of "Mr. Tambourine Man" is a real classic/standard, it's perfect, compare with other artists' versions one should not be surprised why Ms Collins is one of the best singer in this country, I mean, who can keep singing at top form with that golden voice for 50 years? people who think Ms Collins is overrated should think again.

  • Wonderful--an early, and perfect example of what Dylan was--an impressionist poet, creating subconcious impressions with his rhymes. Don't overanalyze them--yeah, the tambourine man probably was a street drug dealer, but that's just Dylans springboard. And Judy's version is so wonderful...particularly the ending, critical line: "let me forget about today until tomorrow". I've often wished that.

  • @listerone I feel the same, I always love Ms Collins as folk singer, her early albums mean so much to me in my life, but I also love her as a contemporary art singer, I mean, who can sing "Send In The Clowns" or "Somerwhere Over The Rainbow" better Ms Collins?

  • @Gerryofcalifornia I can partially agree about Judy. Her ability to take the work of others and make it her own is legend. Her first five albums are true classic but when she moved away from "folk" she lost me.Her rendition of Tamborine Man is very probably the best thing she ever did,IMO....along with several songs from her Town Hall concert.

  • I am actually embarrassed that this American musician has not discovered Ms. Collins until now!

  • @meltzerboy Indeed! I 2nd that. Moreover, how does this version of Mr. Tambourine man have less than 10,000 clicks. Once she hits the 100,000 probably more people will charish this soulful version sparked from Bob Arama.

  • "To dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand wavin' free"...amazing! This song amply displays the interperative genius of Judy and the lyrical genius of Dylan.

  • nice version
