The Gerber Clutch multi-tool (MT) proves that mini tools dont have to be expensive to be useful. It possesses most of the utility had by larger tools, albeit with reduced leverage. In the Clutch you can find needle nosed pliers, wire cutters, a well-shaped blade, two-dimensional drivers, tweezers, and a nail maintenance tool. Another bonus over some competitors, like the Leatherman Squirt P4, is a conventionally ground and larger blade that could fill many of your EDC roles. Possible downsides would include: a bit larger size and more weight than the P4 MT (the mini MT class leader I think) and the smallest flathead screw bit needed some grinding for additional precision. But at a mere $12 (more or less) the Gerber Clutch multi-tool offers a ton of utility in a compact package at a bargain price. ////////////////////Nutnfancy Likeability Scale: 7 out of 10

  • why is your squirt p4 pink?

  • @prometheus19799791 Its mine, Nutn gave it to me. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Veri or Nutn, long time no talk guys, what does Nutn think of the Gerber Suspension and Mini Suspension set?

  • @CutleryNovice Hiya CN. Nutn says that he likes them ok, but that he likes the Leatherman better...like the Blast, and its about the same price. He says that he doesn't like the short saw, wharncliffe chisel ground blade, however the price IS good at $25. Great to hear from you and hope that helps. -- Veri

  • Didn't read all comments, but just FYI: The "Vise" replaced the "Clutch." They might have seen this review, because the addressed some of the negatives you mentioned. They combined the phillips on a 2-sided file blade that is way better than its predecessor. Seperate serrated blade, combined bottle opener with flat head screwdriver. Mini-flathead seems pretty thin. I'm not wild about the outside handle material--an anodized colored metal that has rough edges-needs smoothing. Weight: 2 oz.

  • Why do you need a Nail file on a multi-tool.

I saved the day better file my nails

  • Gerber products are a very nice quality for the money.

  • I've had mine for about 4-5 years. It's really nice to have around.

  • DO NOT squeeze the pliar handles to hard because one of my pliar jaws broke off and flew across the room.
