  • to CYBRAXCYBERSPACE: please i have a question: when i have dragged an effect to a clip and the violet bar appears over it BUT i want this effect to work only for a part of the clip not for the whole one... how is it possible? thankyou in advance for your help

  • The fastest and easiest way is to add an edit (razor tool on toolbar) Fancy name for just cutting the clip in 2 (or more pieces). Put your timeline where u want to cut and click the razor. Now place your effect on the first part leave the 2nd edit unaffected.

You can also use keyframes, doubleclick the purple bar (or right click it) to bring up

the effect options, edit the effect, make sure under options use "keyframes" is enabled and keyframe your effect to the desired lenght.

    Good Luck.

  • thanks a milllion this really helped 100% coz i'v purchased the softwere nd i'v been fed up how to correct de colour nd u helped me with that i really do thank u

  • Very nice! You've just gained a new subscriber

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I'm starting an editing internship on a film and have only used FCP and Premier primarily in the past. My OS X wouldn't support the new Avid trial program, so I'm glad I found your tutorial to acquaint me with the Avid. It's fairly similar to programs I've used in the past, so I'm less nervous about cutting on it when I show up for my internship tomorrow. Thanks, Cybrax!!!
